the world, have mercy on us; you who are seated at the right hand of

HOMILY/SERMON
PROFESSION OF FAITH
DEACON: I believe in One God,
ALL: the Father, the Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, of all that is seen
and unseen. I believe in One Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God,
eternally begotten from the Father, God from God, Light from Light, True God
from True God, begotten, not made, of one being with the Father. Through him all things were made.
For us men and our salvation He came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit He was born of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For us He was crucified under Pontius Pilate: He suffered, died and was buried. On the third day He rose again in fulfillment of the Scriptures; He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead, and his Kingdom will have no end.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and Giver of Life, who proceed from the Father. With the Father and the Son He is worshiped and glorified. He has spoken through the prophets.
I believe in one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church. I acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. I look for the resurrection of the dead + and the life of the world to come.
AMEN

ALL: THAT THEY MAY FAITHFULLY PROCLAIM YOUR WORD
AND ADMINISTER YOUR HOLY SACRAMENTS.
DEACON: We pray for all who govern and hold authority
in the nations of the world;
ALL: THAT THERE MAY BE JUSTICE AND PEACE ON THE EARTH.

DEACON: Give us grace to do Your will in all that we undertake;
ALL: THAT OUR WORKS MAY FIND FAVOR IN YOUR SIGHT.
DEACON: Have compassion on those who suffer from any grief or trouble;
ALL: THAT THEY MAY BE DELIVERED FROM THEIR DISTRESS.

Individual petitions can be spoken, or silence kept.
CELEBRANT:
Lord, make us instruments of your peace.Where there is hatred, let us sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where
there is discord, union; where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where there is
sadness, joy. Grant that we may not so much seek to be consoled as to
console; to be understood as to understand;to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are
pardoned; and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen

The people may kneel or sit. Silence may be kept.
Deacon and People:
We are heartily sorry for having offended you, and We detest all our sins, because they offend you, my God who are so good and deserving of all our love. We firmly resolve, with the help of your grace, to sin no more and to avoid all occasions of sin.
Deacon, while kneeling:
May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and lead us to eternal life. Amen.

THE PEACE
DEACON: Lord Jesus, you said to your apostles: I leave you my peace, my
peace I give you. Look not upon our sins, but rather at the faith of your
Church, and then grant us the peace and unity of your kingdom.ALL: Amen.
DEACON: May the peace and love of the Lord be with you today and always.
ALL: And with your spirit.

of peace.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy Name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power and the glory for ever and ever. AMEN
